The latest update for MacOS High Sierra includes support for external graphics cards
The problem with most Macs is that they are not upgradeable. Apple offers users some options to choose from when they want to buy a computer, but this is often limited to random memory and storage, while very limited options are offered when it comes to graphics card.
Unfortunately, this means that users who want more processing power when it comes to graphics will have to buy more expensive computers, such as Mac Pro or iMac Pro. However, the good news is that you will not have to pay a lot of money to buy a high-performance Mac because the latest MacOS High Sierra update seems to bring support for external graphics cards.
What this means is that if you have an old Mac and still plan to use it, you will be able to connect it to an external graphics processing unit that may be more powerful than the one embedded in the computer. This will certainly reduce mobility if you use a laptop, but if you work at home, that should not be a big problem.
This also means that developers who are looking to develop virtual reality applications for Macs now have an option to enhance their current computers. This is financially reasonable as the cost of a new graphics processing unit will be lower than the purchase of a new Apple computer.
