Huawei: Rumors of our spy on customers are "not true" and we will outperform Samsung and Apple

Huawei chairman Richard Yu said his company aims to outperform Apple and Samsung and become the world's largest maker of smartphones. To achieve this goal, it hopes to enter the US market, dreams that the US government has confronted.

Over the past months, US regulators and intelligence have warned against buying any product related to Huawei, saying their devices have tools that spy on consumers for the Chinese government.

"We understand that we are not a well-known mark in the United States, we want to build our brand here, our first step is to gain customer confidence," Yu said. "Knowing how to do this will be really difficult."

However, Yu believes that even if Huawei can not enter the US market, it will be able to beat Samsung and Apple.

Today, the Chinese brand announced that in 2017 it had sold 153 phones, with its sub-brand Onur, up 32 percent. Samsung shipped 317.1 million phones last year, while Apple's 215.8 million was Apple's.
