The difference between Google Maps and Google Maps Go

Last year, Google announced the enhanced version of the Android operating system, where Android Go is specifically designed to run on devices with limited memory, and lets you experience the best version of Android on low-level devices.

Google has redesigned most of its popular applications explicitly for Android. These applications are known as "Go" applications, which are variants of the original applications. Some of the applications are Google Go, Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps and Go.

While pre-installed on Android devices, you can install them from the Google Play store on any device, these applications are very useful on low-memory phones and in areas with low Internet connectivity.

The difference between Google Maps and Google Maps
Application size
Google Maps comes with just 140KB, but since it's a progressive web application that needs a Google Chrome browser to work on your computer, the small size is logical. On the other hand, the main Google Maps application is about 25-30MB.

User interface
Overall the user interface is quite similar in both applications, and when you run applications for the first time you will not find a big difference, where there is a search bar at the top, quick actions at the bottom and two floating buttons on the right side of all applications.

However, while the Go application supports maximizing signal size in maps, it lacks gesture support in navigation, and you should click on the three-bar icon in the top-right corner to open the navigation drawer. When you do, you'll find many missing options in the Go application .

Similarly, at the top you will not find your account cover image, but you get the option to switch accounts. Google Jo supports multiple accounts, but lacks many other things. When you search for a site, even though you have track information, Clicking the navigation button prompts you to download the main Google Maps app.

Support
The basic application environment, which allows you to use most Google Maps services, allows you to perform all major map tasks like searching for places, getting directions, and seeing live traffic information, but does not support clicking the navigation button and prompting you to download the main application.

Real-time location
In fact Google Maps application Go does not support the real-time location sharing, since Google added the direct site sharing feature to its main application last year, however, this same feature did not reach the Go application.

Work offline
Google currently does not support offline maps in the Go application, but if you think about it, the Go applications are manufactured for phones that have less processing capacity and areas with simple Internet connectivity, so it makes sense to add offline support to maps, even YouTube Go It has an offline video feature, and I'm optimistic Google will add that feature soon.

In addition, the current version of the app also lacks the recent parking feature.

Titles, reviews and photos
If you're a regular Google Maps user and want to add comments and ratings, Google Maps will disappoint you, you can not do anything, you can not ask questions, But you can view reviews, ratings, and answers, and you can not assign home and work addresses, knowing that this is an important and useful feature for checking traffic and trends.
