Google Officially Launches Big Update for Gmail Service on the Web
Google said new updates to Gmail were available from today, with some benefits coming in the coming weeks.
About two weeks ago, Google told G Suite administrators that the Gmail email service on the Web was on track to get a new design in the coming weeks, and after screen shots of the new design were leaked, the company today officially announced the release of the new version.
"Today we announced significant improvements to the Web version of Gmail to help people increase productivity at work," Google said in a publication on its blog.
The new design makes Gmail as close as possible to Inbox, which has raised concerns among recent users of the company's graduation, asserting that nothing will change for it after recent updates to Gmail.
As for the new Google brought to Gmail, it mentions the "delay" button, in addition to facilitating access to frequently used applications, such as calendar, notes, and the new task application Tasks.
Gmail will also "push" you to follow up and respond to messages using quick reminders that appear next to your emails to help make sure nothing is missing.
Google also added the "smart response" feature, which it said would help you respond quickly to messages. Gmail's mobile version has new features such as priority notifications, which appear when you receive an important message.
Finally, the new secret mode lets you remove the option to forward, copy, download, or print messages, which is useful when you need to send sensitive information via e-mail. You can also make the message expire after a certain period of time to help you control your information.
Google said new updates to Gmail were available from today, with some benefits coming in the coming weeks. The design can be activated by going to Settings and selecting Try the new Gmail, with the possibility of returning to the old design.
