Fix "Open with" problem does not work in Windows 10
The Open With option has been a basic feature of the Windows platform for more than a decade, allowing you to override the default program to open a specific file or give a program to capture even when Windows does not recognize what the program is intended for. For work, this can cause you a problem on a personal level.
There are several ambiguous reasons for this problem, but some clear fixes and solutions to "Open With" do not work, we have here for you.
Fix Open with a problem does not work in Windows 10
Do you have the right program?
First, before you begin to explain the steps to fix the problem, are you sure you installed the software needed to open the file on your computer? It is easy to assume that a self-extracting RAR file, for example, should open easily on your computer, but it will not happen if you do not have WinRAR installed on your Windows machine. Do you know that JPG-LARGE files are not similar to JPEG files, You will need to rename the extension to ".jpg" to open it using a normal image viewer? These are just small things to keep in mind.
Fix the Open With option with Open With missing
1. If the "Open with" context menu option is missing, you can get it back by editing the registry in your computer (preferably by backing up the registry first!) By opening the Run menu and typing regedit and then pressing Inter.
2. In the Registry, go to the next track or copy and place it in the title bar
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
3. Right-click "ContextMenuHandlers" in the pane on the left, then select "New -> Key" and then name it "Open With". Once created, select the new "Open With" folder, On the right, you'll see what's in the next image.
Right-click on the file that says "Default," then click Modify, enter the following in the Value data box and click OK:
{09799AFB-AD67-11d1-ABCD-00C04FC30936}
Once you have done this, close Registry Editor or Registry. The "Open With" option should return to work in the context menu, and if not, restart the computer, and then check again.
