IBM offers us the smallest computer in the world, which is smaller than a grain of salt

IBM will unveil the world's smallest computer on the first day of the IBM Think 2018 conference. It says it is smaller than a grain of salt and has the same computing power as the x86 processors that were released in 1990. Of course, this is not enough for tasks Which most of us do on computers every day but this is not the purpose of this chip in the first place.

IBM says the chip will include "hundreds of transistors" and it will cost less than 10 cents to manufacture. The US company also said it would be able to monitor, communicate, analyze, and handle data. It is supposed to be a source of data for the applications of the blockbuster, and has the ability to trace cargo, theft detection, fraud, and non-compliance. Moreover, it is reported that this microchip will be able to perform basic artificial intelligence tasks, including data sorting.

IBM researchers are testing only the prototype of this chip, so it is not clear at the moment when we will see this chip making its way to commercial devices.
