A new report says that Nintendo has not yet started developing a successor to the Nintendo Switch
It takes companies a few years to develop their new gaming devices. Given how successful the Nintendo Switch is now, many people wondered if the company had begun to develop the successor to the device. Nintendo has not suggested anything at the moment, but if the report we received today is true, it seems that Nintendo is not yet planning to develop a new device.
The Nintendo Wall Street Journal reported that Nintendo is not planning to work on a successor to the Nintendo Switch now. Sources in the report claim that Nintendo will look to increase the sales of the Nintendo Switch through the release of new accessories and improve the features of the network.
Nintendo is likely to introduce new network-related features to the Nintendo Switch later this year, as well as new accessories that will be plugged into the USB Type-C port, the report says. It is not surprising to hear that Nintendo is not working on the successor to the Nintendo Switch currently. The company's CEO, Mr. Tatsumi Kimishima, has previously expressed interest in extending the life cycle of the Nintendo Switch to more than 5-6 years.
Nintendo recently unveiled the Nintendo Labo, and it seems to be just one of the ways in which Nintendo will try to sell more Nintendo Switch modules. For the moment, Nintendo fans can feel comfortable after making sure that the Nintendo Switch will get all the attention of the Japanese company in the coming years.
