Caterpillar launches its new phone CAT S61 at a price comparable to iPhone X

Caterpillar, a construction company best known for its bright yellow bulldozers, dump trucks and excavators, decided to enter the smartphone market years ago with a focus on robust devices that, like their machines, can withstand difficult working conditions.

The CAT S61 has the advantage that its thermal camera shows a higher level of contrast in images with a greater thermal range of 20 ° C to 400 ° C. Compared with the CAT S60 camera, which captures 480 x 640 pixels of the camera, the CAT S61 can capture thermal images at 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The camera can also broadcast live with thermal imaging.

In addition to the thermal camera, the new Caterpillar phone comes with a sensor to measure the quality of indoor air with the possibility of warning the user when the hazard, and comes with a laser-based distance measurement system capable of measuring the distance automatically.

For the rest of the specifications, the CAT S61 offers a 5.2-inch screen with 1920 × 1080 resolution that is designed to work even with wet gloves or fingers. It is natural for a phone of this type to support IP68 for water and dust resistance, for an hour.

For internal specifications, the phone is running the Android version of Android with a promise to upgrade to Android P, offering 4 GB RAM and 64GB of internal expandable storage space.

The phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, and comes with a 16 megapixel camera with 4K resolution, an 8 megapixel front camera and a 4,500mAh battery.

Regardless of the thermal camera, the CAT S61 can be included with these specifications in the middle class of Android phones that will appear in 2018.
