Huawei is working on its own operating system to be an alternative for Android system

Huawei is one of the fastest growing smart phone manufacturers on the planet and it will be disastrous for the company if it is prevented from using the Android system in its devices. However, because of the ongoing investigation with the company of sanctions imposed by the United States of America against Iran, there is a possibility that this will happen. Huawei reportedly wants alternative options if it is prevented from using the Android system, which is why it is now believed that the Chinese company is developing its own operating system.

These concerns come after ZTE, another Chinese company, was banned by the US Department of Commerce from using US technology. It is clear that ZTE has violated the sanctions imposed on Iran, and has therefore been banned from importing components from US companies for seven years. There are concerns that the ban may also mean that Google will withdraw the Android license from ZTE.

South China Morning Post reported that Huawei is working on its own operating system as a possible replacement for the Android system. Although the company is not currently threatened with loss of the Android license, it is said that the Chinese company wants an alternative to the Android system as a backup step if the escalating trade tensions between the US and China push things to that level.

Huawei did not provide any information about the operating system that it is said to be working on. The company said in a statement it had "no plans to launch its operating system in the foreseeable future." However, this may be beneficial to Huawei as it will enable the company to reduce its dependence on Google in the future.

However, it should be noted that Huawei will have to invest a lot of money and effort in case it wants to reach the same level as the Android system. Take the TizenOS system, for example. The development of this system began a few years ago, but it is still far from the Android system in terms of features and developer support. Therefore, even if Huawei decides to upgrade its operating system as an alternative to the Android system, it will not be easy for them to set up an operating system capable of competing with the Android system.
