Google Unveils New Features for Google Maps

Google also talked about its Google Maps service at its annual Google I / O 2018 Developers Conference today. The service is set to receive a host of new features this year.

The redesigned "Explore" tab will now show you everything new and interesting in the neighborhood. You'll see dining options, events, and activities based on the area of the map you're viewing. In addition, this tab will contain popular menus such as Foodie List that will show you places where culinary experts eat, and help you find new restaurants based on information from local experts, Google algorithms, and trusted publishers.

The new Google Maps service will also keep track of your progress on each list, adding a game-like feel. If you've already moved to a few places in one list, Google Maps will tell you how many places you have left to try before you skip them all.

When you click anywhere to eat or drink, you will get a number indicating the likelihood of enjoying the place, which is called the name "Match | Match ". You'll see why each number is based on factors such as what Google knows about your restaurant, favorite foods and drinks you've already selected on the map, where you've visited, whether you've rated a restaurant, or added it to a list.

Matches will change over time to accommodate changes in your tastes and preferences. This would help you choose the next place to eat with confidence, for example.

Group planning for a meal or activity will be easier because you will be able to put a long squeeze on the places you care to add to a shortcut menu that you can share with your friends or family. They can then add more places to the list and vote on them. Once you've made a decision together, you can use Google Maps to book and find a link to get to the place.

The "For You" tab will allow you to stay abreast of the latest events in the areas where you are located. You can choose to follow the neighborhoods and eating places you want to try. This means that you will always get a quick idea of it for your next activity.

All these features will be released globally on the Android and iOS platforms in the next few months, at least according to Google.
