Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are beginning to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update

As already expected, Samsung officially launched today the upgrade of Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. This update is currently available for units sold in the UK, but this update should be available to owners of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in other areas around the world soon.

This update upgrades the system architecture to the G930FXXU2ERD5 version of the Galaxy S7 phone, and to the G935FXXU2ERD5 version of the Galaxy S7 Edge phone. Regardless of the upgrade of the operating system version, this new update also brings with it the Sasmung Experience 9.0 interface. This new version of the Samsung Experience interface optimizes the keyboard, bringing with it basic emoticons, GIF animations, posters, Digital Bixby, and many other changes.

As noted, this update may take some time to reach your phone, but if you can not wait to see it in the near future, you can check that this update is available to your device manually by going to the Settings app. And then go to the "About Device" option, and then go to the "System Updates" option.

Of course, you can download this update using mobile Internet data or WiFi, although we always recommend using WiFi when it comes to downloading updates because it eliminates your portable Internet data. Of course, do not forget to back up the contents of your phone to avoid losing your files and data if things get worse while installing the update.
