Instagram is officially launching "Download Personal Data" tool for users

Two weeks ago, it was reported that Instagram was working on a feature that allows users to upload their photos, videos and profile information. This is useful for those who are looking for backups of their Instagram data if they are hacked, eventually terminated, or simply want to stop using this social network.

The good news is that if you look at this tool, you may be interested to know that TechCrunch has recently made it clear that the Personal Data Uploader is now available and can be accessed via the Instagram Web site from here. Note that this tool is only available on the web at the moment, but Instagram confirmed to the site that it is bringing this tool to Android and iOS users as well, but basically this tool should be available on PCs and mobile devices based on your personal preferences.

"We'll email you a file containing your photos, comments, profile information, and more," according to Instagram. We can only work on one request from your account at a time, and it may take up to 48 hours to collect and send this data to you. " Your profile information will contain information such as usernames who follow you, people you follow, live messages, and more. It will also work with saved "Stories" stories, but only those published after December of 2017.
