Whatsapp allows you to notify your contacts if you change your number on the application

Whatsapp , owned by Facebook, has launched a new update that will notify all your contacts of your new number if you change the application.
The change of number feature allows you to change your number associated with an account on the same phone if you want to use another number on it. This feature is designed to be used before verifying your new number.


Using the "change number" property in whatsapp would:

• Moves your account information (including your profile information) and your groups and settings from your old phone number to the new one.
• Delete the Whatsapp account associated with your old phone number, your contacts will not see your old number listed in their Contacts and Account list.

If you use the "change number" feature, chat logs will be available on your phone in the Whatsapp account associated with the new number as long as you use the same phone.

Before you start the "change number"

• Make sure that you can receive text messages and calls on your new phone number and that you have a physical connection to the Internet through cellular data.
• Make sure your old number is enabled in whatsapp currently on your phone. You can see the number you're currently using by opening and signing in and clicking the Menu button> Settings and then clicking your avatar.

Note: When you change the number, your contacts will not be notified individually, only the people in the same chat groups that they belong to will see that you have changed your number. In order for your contacts to easily let you know that you will change your number before making the change.

Change your phone number
Follow these instructions to change your number in Whatsapp :

1. Insert the new SIM card into your phone.
2. Open Wattab.
3. Make sure your old number is enabled in whatsapp by opening and tracking and clicking the menu button> Settings and then click on your profile.
4. Click the Menu button> Settings> Account> Change number.
6. Enter your old phone number in the first line.
7. Enter your new phone number in the second box.
8. Click Done to complete the process.
9. You will be asked to verify your new number.
