Google Assistant supports adding your phone number to help you perform some tasks

The new feature appeared to users of the Assistant application on the IOS system, and has not yet reached the Android system.

Over the past few weeks, Google Digital Assistant has gained many new features, support for third-party services, and increased developer capabilities. Now Google comes with a new addition that allows users to add their phone numbers to enable the assistant to perform certain tasks.

The new extension comes with a new option under Settings in the "Personal Information" menu that allows the user to enter his or her phone number, followed by a confirmation message.

Once the number is confirmed, the user will be able to perform new tasks, such as "reservations", as well as enabling other people to communicate with him through various Google services.

Currently, Assistant does not provide built-in booking capability. So the extension is likely to be used while making reservations through Assistant through external services such as OpenTable.

It is also noteworthy that the new feature appeared to users of the Assistant application on the IOS, has not yet reached the Android system.
