Chrome will soon support the transmission of local files via Cast

The Chrome Web browser provides the ability to stream content to external screens via the built-in broadcast feature, including a full-screen or full-screen broadcast, but something else seems to be needed by Google and Google intends to support it soon.

Previously, if you wanted to broadcast an audio or video file from your computer to external devices, you had to use external extensions or separate applications, but Google is now testing to support this feature.

Developer François Beaufort told Chrome that the browser team was testing the ability to broadcast a local file directly into the browser.

At the moment, the feature is only available in the Chrome browser beta, and you should see the option to select Cast in the browser menu and choose Cast file from the drop-down menu. After that, users can simply select an audio or video file and broadcast it to any Cast-supporting device as you normally would.
