Samsung unveils a new 30.72 terabyte SSD that delivers incredible performance

About two years ago, Samsung unveiled a new SSD storage capacity of up to 15.36 terabytes, and now the South Korean company doubled this storage into a single storage memory called Samsung PM1643. This new storage comes with a capacity of 30.72TB and is based on newer V-NAND chips.

The new storage has a read speed of up to 2100MBps and a write speed of up to 1700MB / s, which means 400k / 50k in / sec. To achieve this achievement, Samsung has used the technology through Silicon Via, knowing that this storage unit includes 40GB of VRAM.

Obviously this is an industrial storage and has the protection of memory loss if the energy is suddenly lost and there is ECC to maintain integrity. As for durability, Samsung says you can write 30.72 terabytes of data every day for five years. The average time between failure is 2 million hours.

Samsung has already started to manufacture initial quantities of Samsung PM1643, but we still do not know the official price. Samsung will later release other storage units with 15.36 TB, 7.68 TB and 3.84TB to 0.8TB.
