New Google Pay for Android is now available for download

In January, Google announced that it would collect all payment services on its mobile devices in one new service called Google Pay. Today Google Pay for Android is now available for download. So say goodbye to both Android Pay and Google Wallet.

Google Pay seems to be just one part of everything Google is planning in this area. In the future, all Google products must support the new Google Pay service, including Google Chrome and Google Assistant. You should also increasingly see Google Pay as an available payment option on websites, apps, and your favorite places around the world.

The app has two tabs. The first tab is called Home which displays your recent purchases, lets you find nearby stores, allows easy access to rewards, and shows helpful tips. The second tab is called Cards, and as its name implies, it's where you can find everything you need to pay, including credit and debit cards, loyalty cards, or gift cards.

Google Pay offers pay-per-view tickets in Kiev, London and Portland at present, and the company promised to add more cities to the list. You can also fill out online payment fields with the new app, just as you would probably do with Android Pay. As such, Google Pay has an additional security layer compared to a credit or debit card directly because the actual card number is not shared when used in stores.

Within a few months, users will be able to send and receive funds directly through the Google Pay service, but only in the United States and the United Kingdom. At the same time, this feature will be available within the Google Play Send app, which is just a Google Wallet app with a new name.
