How to recover any file you deleted on Windows systems
If you delete files from any device, you can retrieve them, most often. In this article, we will talk about computers running Windows systems and retrieve deleted data, deleted only or deleted completely or even after formatting.
Whether the data is a file, a picture, a video, a document, a sound recording, or almost anything you can retrieve, without further lengthening, let's start.
Recover files from trash
Delete any file with the Delete button being moved to the trash.
You will often find the Recycle Bin icon under the Recycle Bin name on your desktop. If you do not find it there, you can search for the name by searching icon in Windows 10 or the search bar in the Start menu in Windows 7 and 8.
After you open the trash, you will find all the files you deleted with the Delete button.
If the files are many, you can sort them by clicking in a blank space, then selecting Sort by and then selecting Item type. Or clicking the Item type bar and selecting the file extension you're looking for, such as selecting JEPG or JPG if you're looking for an image.
After you find the file you are looking for in the trash, click it and drag it to any file on your computer, desktop or otherwise.
Recover files completely deleted from the computer
There are a lot of software that features this function, here are links to download the most famous ones:
- Recuva
- Disk Digger
- PC Inspector File Recovery
- Paragon Rescue Kit 14 Free
- CGSecurity PhotoRec
Personally, I used Recuva for months, I can guarantee it, and you can complete the job with the free version.
After the download is completed, you will find the program as an exe file in the uploads, double click on it to start the installation process.
After selecting the file type and clicking on Next, select where you saved the file before deleting it and click Next. If you are not sure, choose "I'm not Sure".
This window will then appear, for the first time, click Start without checking the box in front of "Enable Deep Scan".
The process usually takes less than a minute, and the results will appear in the names of the deleted files, you can select them, then right-click and choose Recover highlighted.
A window will then appear asking you where to save the file after it is retrieved.
Note: When retrieving files, make sure that you restore them in a place other than the one you deleted from them, so as to minimize the chances of a retrieval failure.
Even if you delete files in the Format process?
Yes, you can restore deleted files after the Format process in this way.
But sometimes you do not find the files, especially if you deleted them a long time ago, so it is advisable to mark the Enable Deep Scan box.
Large files, such as videos up to 2GB, may be difficult to recover because others have been "overwritten" with them.
But if you want to improve the chance to retrieve it, you can buy the paid version.
Also, when you delete a file, which contains 500 images, you are looking for images, not the file .. Often you will be able to retrieve most of them.
