Galaxy S8/S8+ phones are beginning to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update in China

After long waiting, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 began receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update in China. For the changes that this update brings, it includes:

Biometrics

• Any biometric security method used to open will require a screen lock. When screen lock is disabled, only biometrics will be disabled.

• Long press on the application icons will display the shortcuts
• The number of notifications on app icons will be connected to notifications, so if you clean notifications by clicking the app icon, notifications will be cleared in the notification center and vice versa

Samsung Keyboard

• The upper bar provides shortcuts to useful functions
• New animated GIF keyboard
• Provide more styles

Performance

• Restrict services in the background to improve battery life and performance
• Apps that are currently running will always appear in the Notifications panel

Edge of the screen

• Improved overview by font, color and new settings
• Touch the edge at length to change its place
• Add 3 new edge options

Lock screen and Always On Display screen

• New styles for both
• Adjust the transparency of notifications

Smart View

• Allows you to turn off the phone screen during reflection

Samsung Account

• Control your account settings and profile information for a number of Samsung apps
• Click the profile icon in Settings to access your profile information and account settings

Samsung Cloud

• View and manage photos stored in Samsung Cloud
• Store all file types in Samsung Cloud Drive
• Select items to remove or restore from Cloud Backups
• See the size of the backup version and how many items it contains.

Samsung Dual Messenger

• Install a second copy of any chat application allowing you to use two accounts at the same time
• Long press Apply Messages in Home or App Screen to install the second account

Find My Mobile

• Make a Secure Folder backup to Samsung Cloud remotely if you lose your smartphone
• Close Samsung Pass using Find My Mobile

Samsung DeX

• See more apps by changing the apps list to fill the screen
• Use the Game Launcher in DeX to play a game in full screen mode
• Add support for LED Cover Covers and Clear View Standing Cover

Other improvements

• Support Bluetooth for HQ formats such as AAC and Sony LDAC
• The video player has the option of auto-replay and twice the speed option
• Sound Recorder now has smart tips for clock calls during recording
• E-mail lets you report Microsoft Exchange e-mail messages
• Samsung Health now comes with a permanent notice to display the number of steps
• The clock now includes landscape mode and new timer sound options
• Clock Widget now serves as a shortcut to clock implementation
• Add the ability to manage usernames and passwords for Samsung Pass in third party applications
