Huawei has patented a new smartphone with a folding screen
Huawei has worked hard to stay at the forefront of innovative cameras, but has not forgotten the aspect of the screens as well. The Chinese company recently obtained a patent for a folding smart phone that can be opened and closed like a book.
The patent was filed on September 19 last year and was published today. The mechanism embodied in the patent looks similar to the mechanism used in Microsoft's Surface Book, but seems to leave a much smaller gap in Huawei's patented design.
The phone embodied in this patent includes one screen instead of two monitors, as in the ZTE Axon M phone, and this screen should be the size of the tablet screen when it is fully opened. The patent does not speak of how to use the device when it is closed. There should be a way to check notifications, such as a LED bar or additional screen.
